Mrs. Radha Rani Pramanik

A truly inspirational story of a woman and her family fighting all odds and shaping their own destinies. Mrs. Pramanik, a resident of outskrits of Mecheda had opted to build a toilet for her family where there is no one residing nearby with proper sanitation. Her husband is a train hawker, and has seen all the struggles of life and has kept pushing for better options. Deterioriation of family health due to open defecation and further loss of income due to sickness has put their life on the slow track.

This fight with reality had made her realise how important little changes can bring about. For her family’s benefit and to keep living a mentally and physically healthy life she made the choice of builidng a toilet at her home. Now she does not have to worry about the diseases caused by the factors when she chose to defecate in the open. Now she has nothing to worry about while her children grow. A safe and secure environment for her family to live in.
